I went to Marshall County Hospital 3 times for the same thing. I hurt my back moving some stuff at home. 1st time; given muscle relaxers. 2nd time; given pain pills, muscle relaxers, and told not to drive while taking meds, and to take as directed. Called into work for 10 days since I was told not to drive. 3rd time; Dr Jeffery Bryen told the receptionist he would not see me unless I paid $50.00, since I had been there before for the same problem. No X-Rays, no CTScan, no MRI on 3 visits, and I had very good insurance. I took the hospital slips to work, but they needed a release for the 10 days. Went back to the hospital to get a note for this, they dont give notes to go back to work. Said I should have gone to a Dr. The ER slips say if you arent any better to go to a DR. or come back to the ER. I did go to the Administrator of the hospital, she called a week later to check on me. Well I was fired from my job. A company I had worked for for 6 years a 2 locations. I wasnt given a write up, just terminated. Because of this I lost my job, and the Hospital should have loop holes for situations like this. I had moved here 6 months ago and did not have a Dr. in this area. My Dr. was 2 hours away. This is not right, and they should be held responsible. If I didnt have insurance maybe I could understand not seeing me. Is this even legal.
